What is a BIM?

CONSTRUCTION BIM DELIVERY

CASE STUDY

BuildBIM facilitated Arvida's pilot BIM project, enhancing collaboration, coordination, and delivery, leading to institutionalizing BIM across future projects.

Client: ARVIDA

Project: ARIA BAY RETIREMENT COMMUNITY | STAGE 2

Sector: AGED CARE

Services: BIM MANAGEMENT, DESIGN REVIEW & CONSTRUCTION BIM PACKAGE

Cost: $30 MILLION

Status: COMPLETE

This was Arvida’s Pilot BIM Project, BuildBIM assumed both an advisory role and executed a thorough BIM review encompassing design and construction management, culminating in the delivery of a comprehensive shop drawing package. With meticulous precision, we synchronized the construction model, incorporating structural steel and pre-cast packages.

Elevating the construction models to LOD 350 and 400 for services and structure respectively, BuildBIM facilitated and documented effective collaboration between designers, fabricators, and construction teams. Our synergistic approach yielded a fully integrated construction BIM coordination and shop drawing output, preempting potential on-site challenges and significantly contributing to the project's success.

Upon witnessing the efficacy of this case study, Arvida elected to institutionalize the BIM processes and techniques developed on this project on all its major projects going forward.

4D CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE

CASE STUDY

BuildBIM and BIMSafe created a 4D construction animation for ÅŒtepoti ACC building, improving planning, risk management, and coordination.

Client: NAYLOR LOVE

Project: ÅŒTEPOTI ACC BUILDING, DUNEDIN – 4D CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE

Sector: GOVERNMENT

Services: 3D INTEGRATION INTO 4D CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE

Cost: $45 MILLION

Status: COMPLETE

BuildBIM, in collaboration with BIMSafe, developed a comprehensive 4D construction sequence animation for the ÅŒtepoti ACC Building in Dunedin. Partnering closely with Naylor Love, the primary contractor, our objective was to integrate 3D geometry into the project timeline. This integration provided a detailed, visual representation of the construction process, helping to identify potential health and safety risks, define exclusion zones, and address spatial constraints.

The animation specifically highlighted the installation process for key structural elements, including steel components, precast panels, precast concrete floor ribs, and façade glazing panels. This enhanced 4D visualization facilitated better planning, risk management, and coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
